Payment Options in Guatemala
There are many payment options available at Dental Experts Guatemala:
We don’t require an advance deposit, but payment for dental services must be made before starting any procedure.
We accept bank transfers: Some banks provide a free service to transfer funds within the USA. Since we have a bank account in the USA, this method is fast and easy. You will need the name on the account and our routing and account numbers, to be provided upon your request. If you wish to pay in advance by wire transfer, please allow a minimum of 7 business days in case there are any glitches. If you have an emergency or cannot come for some reason, your money will be refunded.
We accept all major credit or debit cards.
In order to avoid delays and complications in scheduling, if you are paying by credit/debit card, please remember to call your bank before you come to let them know you will be traveling out of the country and to not block purchases.
Also please be aware that the credit/debit card companies charge us 5% of the total charge amount. That 5% will be added to your bill for the convenience of using a credit card. To avoid this 5% fee, please pay in cash or make a wire transfer.
We accept Personal Checks: They will need to be deposited in advance in our bank account in the USA. A mailing address and payee name and account number will be provided upon request. The check must have cleared at least one day prior to the start of your dental care.
We accept Cashier or Bank Checks: Cashier and bank checks can be deposited in advance in our bank account in the USA. A mailing address and payee name and account number will be provided upon request.
We accept cash, but do not bring torn or very worn bills (the banks here will not accept them).
The reporting requirement for carrying cash out of the USA is anything $10,000 or more. If you wish to avoid this, bring $less than $10,000 USD.
ATM machines are readily available in Guatemala. The limit is around $300 to $400/day (depending on the provider) and they charge around $3 for each transaction. Your bank can tell you if or what they charge on their end, but it’s usually $2 to $5.

Travelers’ Checks – However American Express lists numerous bank locations where they can be cashed before your procedure.
